This week the ACT Government advised that they would be commencing Stage 2 restrictions from next weekend. With this news, I'm very excited to say that we're planning to go back to the studio from Saturday 6th June!
This allows us time to implement any additional requirements and be ready to transition back safely. Of course, it will be a little bit different with some special measures in place. Please see below some more details about what this will look like. You can also read our full COVID-19 policy here.
The timetable will look similar to the previous studio timetable, with a few minor adjustments to allow for safety measures and any staffing changes that our teachers need. You can expect to see the new timetable Monday 1st June.
Until we go back, we will continue to run classes online. The two-week pass will no longer be available, but I have reduced the cost of the 7-day pass to $25.
COVID-19 safety measures
Class numbers will be restricted, and you must get-in, get-out
Today I went into the studio to measure out our space and have taped out markers to ensure everyone has 4sqm of space. Class numbers will be capped at 13 people plus the teacher, as this is the maximum number that can fit with adequate social distancing and falls within the 20 person limit.
Classes will remain at 1-hour length to begin with, with a 10 to 15 minute changeover period. We ask that you only arrive five minutes before your class and leave as soon as you are finished dancing for the night.
BYO Yoga mat or towel
All students must bring a yoga mat or towel to class for stretching and any floor work. This prevents any sharing of equipment and ensures we are not spreading germs through our floor. At this stage there will be no floor work allowed except where it can be performed on your own yoga mat or towel.
Hand Sanitiser, Soap and other hygiene measures
As always, our bathrooms will be well stocked with hand soap and we will also have some hand sanitiser available. All students should wash their hands with soap and water or hand sanitiser before entering the studio.
The markers on the floor will help you maintain 1.5m distance from others in your class and teachers will be mindful of the need to maintain spacing when developing choreography. We will also ensure barres are wiped down between classes.
Finally, of course, you must stay away if you are sick or show any symptoms of COVID-19. Your teachers will do the same, and we ask that you remain patient and flexible should this mean we need to cancel or change any classes.
