RAD

(Royal Academy of Dance)

For those who prefer a structured way of learning with pre-set goals, Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) classes are a great way to work on your technique. The RAD is an international association that has been offering dance syllabus in Australia since 1920. In these classes you will learn a syllabus and work towards completing an exam. You may also choose to join the classes but not the exam.

GRADE 4

Grade 4 is suitable for Beginner and Advanced-Beginner level dancers and is an excellent way to gain confidence and improve your ballet technique. By learning a syllabus, you will have time to master techniques, exercises and progressions.

DISCOVERING REPERTOIRE LEVEL 3

The program includes well-known classical repertoire, meaning students will learn and dance choreography that students may have seen on stage, set to music that they know and love. The programme is based on modular assessment, to enable students to learn at their own pace. Students will learn three units:
Unit: Class – barre and centre
Unit: Variation 1 – development exercises and Variation 1
Unit: Variation 2 – development exercises and Variation 2
This is suitable for confident Elementary+ students.

ADVANCED 1

Advanced 1 provides an in-depth study of ballet, continuing to develop technique, music and performance skills in complex settings. This syllabus is suitable for Intermediate-Advanced dancers.

To sit an examination you must have completed RAD Intermediate or equivalent. Advanced Foundation is also desired but is not required.
Please note this syllabus includes advanced pointe work.
