MASTERCLASS WITH SYDNEY DANCE COMPANY

$50 for two-hour class ($40 if you have an unlimited pass)

Following on from their popular workshops in 2021, Sydney Dance Company’s Teaching Artists will be running our first masterclass of 2023!
Join for a two-hour class where you will be guided through contemporary technique, learn company repertoire, and explore choreographic tasks the company dancers used when creating the works that are included in the Ascent triple bill.
We’re putting on two classes to ensure all dancers have enough space. We encourage you to join the class with the peers you usually dance with.
PERFORMANCE GROUP AUDITIONS

Intermediate/advanced level
6th Position is striving to find more ways for you to dance in the way you want. On Monday 27 March, we’re hosting auditions for a brand new performance group.
Suitable for intermediate - advanced dancers comfortable in performing in commercial styles. This performance group will train weekly to develop a repertoire of routines. There will be gig opportunities and the chance to train regularly with other advanced dancers.
Auditions will be run annually.
Training will run in terms and be a flat rate of $18 per week. Dancers also need to attend at least one other dance class per week to maintain technical skills.
6 - 10 places available. All dancers must be 18+

FIRST POSITION
Classes for caregivers and young children
We are here for adults in all life stages. In 2023 6th Position will be offering daytime dance and music classes specialising in early childhood. With the same great ethos and culture that we bring to our beloved adult classes, the newest generation of dance lovers can explore movement and music alongside their caregivers in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our program has been designed to support early childhood in a fun and developmentally appropriate way, while also providing a welcoming space for parents and other caregivers.
There are no “Toddlers n’ Tiaras” or obnoxious music here!
Term 2 starts 24th April
TEEN TASTER CLASSES - Jazz and Contemporary
Jazz: Monday 27 March, 4pm
Contemporary: Thursday 30 March, 5pm

This year, 6th Position has started offering classes to teens aged 13-18 who want to learn to dance and those who want low-commitment classes.
If you know a young person who feels like they’ve missed the boat and want to try dancing, we encourage you to share this with them.
